Squishy Toys

I make miniature rubber sculptures that can be stretched, squished, and played with. These sculptures are first made out of clay, which is then turned into a mold so that it can be hand-cast in silicone rubber. Then any details such as eyes are painted on using a special silicone paint. This makes them very durable and fun to use as a stress or stim toy!

I have several premade molds, although I am always working on improving them and creating new ones. I can also create more detailed, one-of-a-kind customs!

Purchase a Squishy

You can purchase a squishy made from a pre-existing mold, or create a custom squishy to your specifications. Prices vary based on size and complexity, but generally premade molds will cost between $10-$20 USD, while new molds will cost between $50-$70 USD.

You can request any color(s) and patterns and any details to be painted on (paint has a slight 3d effect). I can also add chunky or fine glitter for a fun sparkle! Just let me know what you want yours to look like.

FAQ

What are these made of?

Silicone rubber mixed with small amounts of pigment (mica powder, alcohol ink, and/or acrylic). If you have any allergy concerns let me know and we can discuss materials in more detail.

What is the process for making them?

I sculpt the model in Sculpey clay and bake it. Then I make a mold of the sculpture, and mix up a batch of silicone. I pour the silicone into the mold and leave it to set. Once it is fully solid, I pop it out and mix up a second batch of silicone to use for painting on details like eyes.

How long does it take to make one?

If I already have the mold made, work time is anywhere from 20-40 minutes (not including curing time), depending on the amount of colors and number of painted details. Sculpting a new mold takes several hours depending on complexity.

How do I keep my squishy in good condition?

Squishies are pretty durable, but be careful when stretching them. The rubber can only stretch to about twice its length before you risk tearing, especially in thinner areas. Squishies are waterproof, and if yours gets dusty or dirty it can be rinsed gently and left to air-dry. I personally have never had any problems with melting, but I still recommend avoiding direct sunlight or very strong heat.

My squishy got torn :( Is there anything I can do?

Regular adhesives like glue or tape do not stick well to silicone. However, Elmers makes a product called "squishables" which contains an adhesive silicone solution that works pretty well for repairs. The cheapest option for a repair is the single "mystery character kit" which contains about an ounce of solution (more than enough for basic repair). Mix up the solution according to the instructions, then apply a thick layer to the area that needs fixing, and hold together for about 15 minutes. This stuff sets quickly, so be sure to move fast after mixing it together!
